Ash Wednesday

What do you do when Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day fall on the same day? I figured it was appropriate to buy some nice flowers and spend some time digging in the dirt.

I also put away both Christmas and Mardi Gras decorations. I hung a wreath with bunnies on my door, which I made last year.

But did I reflect on how to become a better person? Did I think about what I wanted to give up for Lent? I did. I decided to tackle one of my most toxic habits, and I discussed this with a very close friend, but there’s no need to put it here for all the world to see. I will try to resist from engaging in a bad behavior I have been aware of for years. Watch out, world! I might soon be a much nicer person!

But, I always also like to mindfully take action during Lent and do something every day that makes my life better. I decided I would try to engage in a little introspection here on this blog daily, the way I used to. So, get ready for 40 consecutive posts. Maybe some will even be longer than this one, but hey, it’s a start!
