Introspection Postponed?

Here’s a section of an abstract painting I’ve been working on for a while, which I think is finally coming together. I was going to write a longer blog post, but I got sidetracked working on this piece and it got late. It’s fun, and also it’s not. Each change I make to it ends up being a big risk. I keep destroying and reinventing this painting, and I can get stuck doing this for hours. Anyway, it felt resolved at some point tonight, but I guess I’ll decide if I should stop or keep going when I look at it tomorrow.

Also, I’m buying champagne tomorrow. That seems noteworthy. After all this time, I’m finally having a small party. It’s a gathering in honor of a friend, who invited her friends (whom I also know and like, so win win).

The flowers I planted yesterday are still alive and I quite like them, especially the poppies.

I started reading a book I like. The Fox Wife. It’s like a fairy tale set in turn of the century China in which foxes seem to shape shift. And they kill people.
