Must Learn to Resin

Today I finally painted a watercolor! Most of my supplies are still packed up, and I couldn’t even find a brush I like, but it felt good to do this. Pretty much everything about being here at the little house today felt good. I met with contractors in the morning and learned some useful things that were surprisingly delightful: Apparently epoxy resin is a good way to address the termite damage in my wood floors without actually having to replace the beautiful old floorboards. Seems serendipitous, as resin is a medium I’ve been dying to explore, but for some reason always found excuses not to. Now, I guess, the Universe is giving me a powerful nudge to do it.

What else? Porch cat is back. There was only one lizard in my mailbox today, but a really lively one. Also, my video about lizards in the mailbox currently has 23k views on TikTok, and that’s obviously very important. Surely, my books will sell like hot cakes as a result.

I took the dog to the vet for her shots, and they talked to me about heart medication. I’m not sure this is something she actually needs. I gave her a very long salty walk instead, and the opportunity to lounge on the new Belgian linen blankets I bought on sale for the new house. She was very lively too – just like the lizard in the mailbox, or perhaps even more so. I think I should make a TikTok about her too.
