There are two fig trees across the street from my condo in Houston and today I stole some figs – both literally and metaphorically. I hope whoever the tree belongs to doesn’t mind.
Next week, downtown Galveston and its community of creatives are hosting something called Art Week, and I was invited to participate in 3 different events – the book signing at the Then & Now Bookshop, but also a painting competition and an evening of live painting. So I went to Jerry’s Artarama to buy panels to paint on and ended up splurging on a whole bunch of Charvin paints. I can hardly resist these because they look like high end makeup in their pretty packaging, also they are so luscious! It’s what I used to paint the figs. I’m quite happy with how they turned out. Also, I had a nice day.
