I did it! I went to a few more stores, and I finally discovered a wonderful landscaping place that sold stepping stones I could actually carry. I bought 14 of them and built a little path in my backyard. I’m so very proud of this!
Also, the back yard is revealing itself more and more to be a place of magic. There are these untamable bushes that grow there. I’ve been trying to cut them down, but it just doesn’t work. Now they started blooming and it took me a while to figure out that they are actually something I love: elderflower! I am about to brew the most magical summer beverage out of these flowers, just you wait!
After all these adventures, I drove to Houston and painted a peacock. It seemed like the right thing to do.
