Another day, another porch painting. I like this one a lot. It was born out of a somewhat frustrating afternoon when it was still too hot out and my friend and I walked around after lunch and complained about various things, including the heat. Everything was beautiful yet we felt somewhat discontented and unmotivated. When I got home it was still too hot and too sunny, but the kitchen felt cool and bright enough to paint too. I focused on a picture we took during our walk and I painted on the counter until the shadows outside stretched enough to engulf the front porch. Then I painted outside. I loved the process and the result too, and my mood improved considerably. In the end, it’s always a good day when I like what I’ve painted.
