Tonight I got to see one of my closest friends (just for a little bit, as I was off to a book club and she had errands to run) and we were both bemoaning how it’s still too hot out during the day. And really, it is. But, although the evening didn’t cool down as much as I would have liked, it held some special kind of magic. I went to a book club in the Heights. They were reading Storms of Malhado. I took some time to walk around before, and the trees and houses looked beautiful. Do I miss the Heights? Perhaps a little bit.
Anyway, I took a selfie I really like, I made some weird horse art (which I cut up into book marks for the ladies in the book club), and I got a Halloween-themed ‘blind date with a book’ from Good on Paper, the cute little book store in the Heights, as a gift from the book club. Between all these things, it somehow maybe is starting to feel like fall (although it’s still too hot out).
