Happy Happy

Today was a very good day. In the morning I decided to treat myself to a live drawing class, so I signed up for one – in Paris! Yes, I’m going to Paris for the third time this year! And I’m also going to Bucharest to spend time with my dad.

It was very cold out in the morning, so I stayed in my comfy bed making all these plans. Then it got nice out and I went to do something I’d been meaning to do for a while now. I donated a bag of clothes to the Cottage Shop at the Women’s Home. I asked my Facebook friends for recommendations on where to donate, and it led to some great conversations. I found out, for example, that Crockett Elementary School collects clothing items in all shapes (including with holes) in order to sell the fabrics by the pound for recycling. I think that’s so cool, and they’re definitely getting some stuff past its prime from me.

As to the good stuff that no longer fits or no longer pleases me, more of it will go to the Women’s Home, and a lot of it will also go to the Resource Crisis Center in Galveston. My dear friend (who is also a reader of my books and just overall a good soul) works for them and will come to my house to collect stuff. This way we’ll get to catch up, and I have so much to tell her! Most importantly, I need to tell her how a story she told me inspired Cassandra Brings Disaster, my nexy book!

And speaking of books, I finally had a bookstagrammer (@readthisthenthat) make a really nice post about Breakaway Bridesmaid. It seems that she liked it, multiple perspectives and all, and ended up feeling proud of the girls by the end of the story.
