Let’s forget for a moment that the energy I had today, which pushed me to accomplish all kinds of things, was due to the fact that I slept until 10am. Then again, is it so bad to sleep until 10am? It’s been such an active and life-changing year! No wonder I’m tired. At least today the sun was shining bright, my coffee was good and strong, the dog was perky and pointy-eared, and I was inspired to do all sorts of useful stuff, including clean the gallery while listening to Pachinko by Min Jin Lee on Audible. I have to say, cleaning wasn’t even that hard, and it made me so very happy!
When I got to the studio, I found the painting of the McDonald Observatory and it struck me as very lovely. I painted a cactus in the desert, and I especially enjoyed playing with the purple shadows.
Today, also, some brand new copies of Dogs with Bagels arrived, in anticipation of my Champagne and Bagels party on Sunday, also Free Food for Millionaires by Min Jin Lee, one of my all-time favorite novels, which I’ve selected as the prize for my anniversary giveaway (Still time to enter! Link pinned to my Twitter profile at @SandoviciME). I won’t give away this copy, though. This one’s for me. After all, it’s been a few years since I’ve read this book, and there are books I love to reread periodically.
