Bittersweet: This morning I finished the sixth draft of The Glory Days of Aimée Bonnard and sent it off to my editor. I will miss Aimée, but in her own way, she will be with me while I work on my other projects and wait for the editor’s feedback. The thing is I really think of Aimée a lot, more than I have of any of my characters in a really long time, even Betty, and I really do love Betty. Maybe the last time I was this obsessed was Miss Vulpe, or maybe it was even before that, maybe it was Maria in Dogs with Bagels, because Maria really got under my skin.
Anyway, just to balance things out, I made a little Almodóvar-inspired collage for Betty and her many troubles.
