Today I woke up bright and early and took the train to Vigo, the town in Galicia where one of my close friends lives, whom I’ve been promising to visit for years. It’s so good to finally see her, and also to finally get to know this part of Spain. My friend always told me Galicia has the best seafood, and today as soon as I arrived she took me to eat the most amazing oysters. They were very salty and tasted like the sea.
The seagulls are screaming here too but from my tiny apartment they seem less loud. It’s still bright out at 10:15pm, which is odd but in a way wonderful. It’s quite a different experience than Porto, and I’m excited to explore with my friend in the days ahead.
